Algonquin stretches from the Fox River and its older hillside neighborhoods out to newer developments on the east and west sides. River bluffs, ravines and wooded open space are part of what makes the village attractive, and they also mean steady pest pressure on nearby homes.
We start each service with an inspection of the safe, accessible exterior areas, then tailor the treatment to what's going on at your house.
Older Algonquin homes near the downtown riverfront can have settling foundations, aging trim and gaps around windows that newer houses don't. Our technician is a licensed roofing contractor and carpentry trained, which helps when spotting the construction details that let insects and mice in. We'll explain what we find and which repairs or exclusion work may help.
Algonquin's Most Common Pest Problems
Homes near the river and the ravines see a lot of carpenter ants. Moist wood, shaded decks and tree limbs touching the roof all invite them, and a wooded backyard can hold several colonies. Carpenter ant service is quoted separately from plan visits.
Yellow jackets are a late-summer problem in Algonquin yards, often nesting in the ground near patios and play areas, while paper wasps settle under eaves and railings. We provide treatment of active wasp nests, and your technician will explain in person how long a treated nest should remain.
As temperatures drop, mice head for warm basements and garages. We look for gaps where they're getting in and can seal accessible entry points with EntryLock®. Pavement ants are also common under patios and slabs in the newer neighborhoods; if they keep appearing indoors, an interior treatment may be required.
Monthly, Bi-Monthly and Quarterly Service
Our residential maintenance plans give you regular visits instead of emergency calls. Monthly service includes 12 visits a year, Bi-Monthly includes 6 and Quarterly includes 4. Each visit includes upper and lower exterior treatment (EPS, Exterior Pesticide Spray, outside only) and a pest management inspection. Plans have a 12-month term and are priced by structure size, and Easy Pay starts as low as $75/month on Bi-Monthly and Quarterly plans.
